Results presentation event: “ECOTOUR in Gran Canaria. La Aldea de San Nicolás”

After more than three years of work funded by the Interreg MAC Funds 2014-2020, the ECOTOUR Project is coming to an end. Led by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (through the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve) and accompanied by more than a dozen other institutions, an online event was held to show the numerous actions carried out within the framework of the project to value the natural and cultural heritage of the coastal areas of protected areas of the Canary Islands, Azores, Cape Verde, Mauritania and Senegal, through the promotion of ecotourism activities. You can access the recording in the link below:

Our participation as a Research Group has contributed to the study and identification of the environmental impacts associated with tourism and recreational activities in these areas, evaluating the compatibility of uses and planning some improvement measures, through the use of sustainable indicators.

Flujo de trabajo ECOTOUR

One of the activities was the dissemination of the environmental values of La Marciega, in Gran Canaria, and the development of the APP-ambiental, a citizen science tool to record the environmental impacts in the study areas of the project.

Didn’t you know APP-ambiental? Check out this post on our blog where we present it to you! Or access directly in http://app-ambiental.com/
